Have done so in the past and would definitely do it again. It blows my mind how so many people can just walk by a person and not take a minute to see what is wrong...........how heartless of them! Okay, you don't want to touch them...but make a phone call at least!
I would make a phone call, and stand next to him and monitor his condition. Someone needs to be witness for this stuff and tell the ambulance staff exactly what happened and what exactly you saw. If he/she is someone I knew (like an office mate or friend), then I would talk with him/her asking how they feel and sit beside them. I was raised to act this way as a child.
Well the guy in that video is acting, and I think people can tell he is playing them for a fool, it's quite clear he is not actually ill. It just looks very very fake, including the way he is pretending to fall to the ground, all done very deliberately, and precisely, and a totally fake cough.
If he was really ill I'm sure people would help. But that vid is fake as hell, and that's why people are walking past.
Well, I noticed that we - The People of City-Data - are very special and kind.
No matter what is the general observation, People of City-Data are always kind, and helpful, and generous - helping strangers, feeding them, giving money, praying, caring, returning lost wallets, etc.
However, the "other" general population, observed on many occasions just mind their own business, and don't want to be bothered...
It is obvious that most people assign a "worth" to other people based on outward appearances. They took the first man to be a bum and not worth their time to help because he was "obviously on a bender." Yet, I believe he kept saying "help?"
Lesson: Be better dressed if you expect to collapse on a busy street and want to get help.
