Have you ever just sat at home on New year's eve? Maybe with family and friends?
I spend it with no one. This will be the 8th year in a row I will spend NYE at home and alone.
Last NYE I moved. Took the last of my stuff into my new apartment and I heard a apartment near by with a party on their balcony do the countdown. Most of the time I'm in bed before midnight.
When we were younger we went out every NYE. It was fun. Now that I'm older I'm kind of been there done that. I would rather just stay home but the husband wants to go out. So I will go out to make him happy.
NYE is no big deal to me. I'm lucky if I am awake at midnight, lol. I spend the night the same as any other...with my DH, my dog, reading playing on my computer
I prefer to stay home on holidays and weekends. Why would I want to deal with crowds people who have been drinking
No matter what the New Year will still be there when we all wake up.
Some years I celebrated by going to parties. Some years I went to nice restaurants. Some I went to a play or special events. The most fun was a New Year's Eve improve show.
But that was all decades ago. For a long time now it's just been me and the cat snuggled up in from of the TV with pop corn for me, Greenies for her, watching the ball drop in Times Square on TV. We like it that way.
Boy...... there are some real party animals here!! I'm loving these comments, as I'm just the same! Can you imagine all of us on this thread in a bar New Years Eve? About 10pm we would all have made our excuses and gone home!!

I'll bet we would all hug, talk, and make life-long friendships. Life is tough at times - we all need our friends .
There'd definitely be some wonderful connections made....even if we all did go home at 10
