Good morning peevers.

What a yucky night that was, with very heavy rain that woke me up a couple of times.

I'm pretty peeveless at the moment, so maybe I'll use that experience as the idea for today's peeve.

There's an article I was reading saying that people down by Southampton Water are being kept awake by a low droning noise at night and they are trying to work out what the cause is.

Round here it's foxes that are most likely to create a noise at night, though we do get low flying helicopters from time to time.

How about you? Let us know because the peeve of the day is the peeve of the night;

Noises that disturb your sleep.

Of course, everyone has different things that disturb them yet may be "music to the ears" of another person.
I screen out the noise of my surroundings by listening to music overnight, at low volume-
it blends away the various sounds that intrude from outside or from other tenants in apt. building.
Sometimes I hear a cat getting into a fight in the wee hours of the morning, or other animal ruckus.
What's really awful is when loudness begins early in morning-such as leaf blower, wood chipper, or the like.

I love the kitty er I mean pony picture!

I'm with SATX56. I only get about 4 hrs sleep/night so there is no noise that wakes me up! I'm the only one I know who slept through all those night time fire drills in college!

We keep getting awakened by noises not-of-this-earth during the night. Tonight was especially frightening.

The other night we had a fog horn malfunction in the middle of the night that woke up quite a few people. Here's the story:

Fog Horn Malfunction Creates Rude Awakening For San Francisco Residents « CBS San Francisco

Luckily DH and I live too far away to hear it. We also use a "Sound Soother," a noise generator that makes pleasant ocean wave and other sound effects to mask noises. It is a relic of our years on the swing shift, when we had to be able to sleep later in the day than most people. Now I can't get to sleep without it.

Poppy the Cat has a "Her Majesty is not amused" attitude going on in that picture.

Good morning and yay for poppy. pretty kitty.

what a busy week. I made it a point to catch up on CD today.

My only peeve today is why can't they make a great tasting sugar free ingredient that doesn't harm your stomach and create gas?
As far as the noises during the night......I take my hearing aid out and wouldn't hear a dump truck drive into a nitroglicyern plant. LOL
