Happy Monday July 29, everybody-and welcome to QOTD

Today’s Question:
Is there a 1980’s music video that’s stuck in your memory-if so, which one ?

Extra Credit:
Have you ever heard BBC radio (some NPR stations broadcast it during overnight hours) ?

Bonus:
Do you prefer to have your top sheet tucked in or pulled out (or does it not matter) ?

Just for Fun:
Did you (or do you now) have a favorite comic strip ?

including edible root vegetables from the black salsify and goatsbeard varieties.

Today Is:

Today’s Picture:

Thought for the Day:

and a wise man because he thinks what is easy is difficult.”

the 80's? yesterday is fuzzy!

Extra Credit:
Have you ever heard BBC radio (some NPR stations broadcast it during overnight hours) ?
sounds familiar

Bonus:
Do you prefer to have your top sheet tucked in or pulled out (or does it not matter) ?

oh my goodness, I hate my sheet tucked in. I feel trapped, and my feet can't be restricted especially when it's HOT, they need their freedom!

Just for Fun:
Did you (or do you now) have a favorite comic strip ?
nope

I really don't know what 80's music is.

Extra Credit:

yes

funny but for right now I don't use a top sheet. I have a nice handmade quilt I like.

Just for Fun:

I can't remember the last time I saw a comic strip.

happy day!

Happy Monday July 29, everybody-and welcome to QOTD

Today’s Question:
Is there a 1980’s music video that’s stuck in your memory-if so, which one? Too many great videos to pick one in particular. Just off the top I'll say Genesis with "Land of Confusion".
Extra Credit:
Have you ever heard BBC radio (some NPR stations broadcast it during overnight hours) ? I used to listen to it regularly on short-wave; now I use live feed.

Bonus:
Do you prefer to have your top sheet tucked in or pulled out (or does it not matter) ? It all depends on the temperature of the room...and if the blonde's in bed with me or not.

Just for Fun:
Did you (or do you now) have a favorite comic strip ? Gary Larson's "The Far Side", he always cracked me up with his deviant humor.

Today in History:
1938-First appearance of “Dennis the Menace” comic strip

1949-Beginning of BBC broadcast radio <- ??? Methinks that date was actually Tuesday, November 14th 1922 with worldwide "Empire Service" beginning on Monday, December 19th 1932. Certainly dad was listening to it from the air base in southern England and later in Burma during the Second World War.

1969-Photos of Mars transmitted by Mariner 6 craft
1983-NBC’s post-talk show program “Friday Night Videos” first airs
1987-Ben, Jerry, and Jerry Garcia debut “Cherry Garcia” ice cream

Til tomorrow...

Right now it's this:

New Order - True Faith (Official Video) High Quality - YouTube

I just got back from seeing New Order in concert tonight. I had a terrific time! Great close to 2 hour performance. They played many of my favorites including the song in the video.

Except for reading them here and there I ever read them regularly. No interest.

Today’s Question:
Is there a 1980’s music video that’s stuck in your memory-if so, which one ?

I seem to recall a tv show called 'Night Flight' that showed videos back in the 80's. I rarely watched it as I was not a fan of 80's music.

Extra Credit:

I have heard of the BBC

Bonus:

Untucked please. Some hotels I stay at must have a machine that tucks the sheets and blankets so tight that it take a lot of effort to get them untucked.

Just for Fun:

I had several but the original authors have long since retired or passed on. The replacement authors just do not seem to get it right. Some of my long time favorites include...
Beetle Bailey
Andy Capp
Wizard of Id
Peanuts
Mutts
Archie

Yes, Peter Gabriel's "Big Time." I thought the animation was witty and clever, and I also liked the song.

I LOVE 80s music! My iPod is full of popular 80s songs. This video is one I'm thinking of right now:

Toni Basil - Mickey (Director's Cut) - YouTube

Extra Credit:
Have you ever heard BBC radio (some NPR stations broadcast it during overnight hours) ? I've heard of it but have never listened to it.

I used to enjoy "Peanuts" a lot.

Today in History:

1938-First appearance of “Dennis the Menace” comic strip <--I was named after him, according to my mother.

Have a great start to the new week!
