Happy hump day, kids! Scroll on down for Today's Tip.
USES FOR USED COFFEE GROUNDS
Here are some nifty things you can do with used coffee grounds!
Use coffee grounds as a garden fertilizer. They contain nutrients for plants that do well in acidic soil. Add some of the grounds to your indoor potted plants as well.
Coffee grounds make a good ant repellant. (I could've used this Tip a month ago when I had ants in my house! )
Repel cats from your garden and shrubbery by placing used coffee grounds on top of the soil, and add some orange peels as well.
If you detect unwanted odors in your freezer, put a bowl of used coffee grounds in it and they will absorb the odors. Put a few drops of vanilla in the bowl with the grounds.
Wet coffee grounds can conceal furniture scratches. (Test in an inconspicuous spot first!)
Like to fish with worms? Mix coffee grounds with the soil to keep your bait worms alive and well.
Concerned about fleas on your dog? Next time you give him a bath, rub coffee grounds through his coat. They may help to repel fleas.

I've been using coffee grounds lately for this. I've also ripped open tea bag and thrown them in the plants. I'll try anything. Great tips as always Pam!
As I opened this on the small laptop and could see only the pic before scrolling down, it looked like cow patties!
I didn't know used coffee grounds were so useful except for plants. This reminds me that I should add some to the avocado pit I just put into a pot of soil thanks to suggestion from LookinForMayberry. Someone mentioned on another thread that they put cayenne pepper in the yard to keep cats out of the yard. I hope that person learns about coffee grounds and uses them instead.
Thanks for the tips! I've been feeding my soil with coffee grounds for some time now, but to counteract fleas? I'll have to try that as my ferret is currently in need of it!
I had no idea that coffee grounds would repel ants! I'm going to pass this on to my landlord. No ant issues in my apartment, but one of the downstairs units with the baby goats that eat everything he was trying to find something that wouldn't hurt them (the goats that is)

That just might work for goats since they like to eat anything and everything. With coffee grounds repelling ants and fleas it's excellent value! For the flea issue, rubbing wheat germ in the coat is supposed to repel fleas. My cats don't have fleas but since cats lick all over with cat bathing, I'm wondering how they would react to a rub down with coffee grounds. For cats wheat germ would be best because they like to eat it anyway and it's very nutritious. Also a healthy flea killer for dogs .... or goats! If dogs don't mind a coffee ground rub down then getting rid of fleas with used coffee grounds doesn't cost a cent! I've already sent PJ's tip to Texas friends.
Think I'll go dump some on the anthills in the driveway cracks!! Worth a try!
