The call of a Loon on a misty lake in the morning.
The cow bell as the head cow heads back too the milking barn
The yelp of a dog on trail.
The slap of the sail as it billows on the sail boat..
The water as it rushes by the hull..
3-2-1...The thunderous roar of lift off from the Shuttle
The boatswain pipe as the admiral boards....

The sound of a finely tuned big block as it idles..
The sound of the impact wrench
The sounds of the lift as it lowers
The sound of a hose bell clang as a customer enters the station..
The sound of the neon light as it blinks...
The sound of the announcer on the AM radio as it crackles talking about today's corn price..
The sound of the old crank cash register..
The sound of the old poor spout as it pierces the lid of the oil can and the glug glug of the oil as it's being poured.
The sound of the new singer on the radio..a boy from Mississippi called Elvis..

Nature sounds ...
seashore sounds ( reminds me of my childhood and hometown )
sounds of birds in the early morning
sounds of a breeze
sounds of a thunder
sounds of a rain ( yeah, especially here, in Texas! )

also:
sounds of my favorite tunes
sounds of someone cooking for me
sounds made by a person I love ( talking to me or just being around )
sounds of a working A/C while is 105+F outside
sounds of a plane ( when I am sitting in and taking off for vacation! )

Ah yes.. The pleasant hum of the turbo-fan engines on a Boeing 767-300 or any Boeing 777 is definitely a very soothing sound..

LOL.. for some guys, it might be a warning for them to go hide..

When I get married (if I ever get married) I hope that doesn't become routine....

Elnina, going back to your plane sounds, I love arriving at any airport in Hawaii and hearing Hawaiian music on the aircraft's PA system... over the reversers on the engines (that loud roar you hear right after the plane touches down on the runway) ...
