Since this topic indirectly came up, I thought it would be fun to take a poll on this.
So typically, 1-2 times a month, someone random will offer to share their food or drinks with me.
Here are they typical experiences:
I am sitting next to them or walking by and ask what they ordered, and if they like it. The next thing that happens, "it is great, would you like some?"
Someone is eating alone or in a small group and offers to share their dessert.
Sitting at a communal table, where people are in close quarters, people offer to share, or a taste of food.
At a bar, where someone has a big plate of a bar snack, and randomly offers.
At a bar, when you comment or ask about a cocktail.
When the table next door orders a bottle of wine and can't finish, they offer to share.
Question 1: do you share?
Question 2: does this happen to you?
Voted "what the heck." I've NEVER seen this in a relationships/romance context.
On less than a handful of occasions, I have gone into a McDonald's and left with my bag of food. I stumbled into a homeless person, usually in a downtown district, and offered to give them a food item rather than money. They accepted. Once, this happened to me at McDonald's in Ipanema, a good part of Rio de Janeiro. Making sure I didn't have stuff on me which could be pick-pocketed, I gave a presumably hungry kid either a bag of fries or an apple pie.
I must have a sign on my head. It happens all to me all the time. And it never happens to any of my friends. Only when they are with me. And it is not like strangers as in "I just met you today and we have a mutual friend."
I guess it happens to me but I'll feed anyone whether I am at home or out and about. Sometimes the offer comes from me as well especially in a bar/restaurant setting but my friends and I are like that.
Yes this happens a lot when people are drinking and having a good time.
Ok, I get it now. Like being at a watering hole happy-hour and letting others take grabs at your finger food or nachos. NO. I've usually gone in groups and we don't engage "outsiders." Funny.
Maybe your friends have sellotaped a sign to your back !
HOMELESS AND HUNGRY, PLEASE HELP !!
