So sorry to hear about your shoulder, Karla. Hope the surgery on the 25th is a success and that you'll be good as new real soon thereafter!

Today's Question(s):
lol Last thing you read or heard that had you saying
"Seriously" or "you have to be kidding me"? The total of my bill at Walmart last night. The cost of just about everything is going up so fast. I was appalled at how much I had to spend just on basic needs.

Bonus Question:
Do you own a Bicycle? No.

Extra Credit Question:
Yup I would qualify for the "Pulitzer Prize" when it comes to
1. My posts in the limericks thread in the Writing forum.
2. Stuff I write when I'm marketing Relay For Life each spring.

Just for Fun:
What was the last reminder note you left for yourself? This morning I made a note to mail a birthday card later this week.
How about for someone else? I wrote a note to a co-worker yesterday, asking her to review something and give me her opinion on it.

Today in History:
1835 - Solymon Merrick patents the wrench Now that's something I'm surprised wasn't invented a lot earlier.
1891 - Electric self-starter for automobile patented
1859 - 1st air mail (in a balloon) took off from Lafayette Ind with over 100 letters for people in New York City. Well, the mail was late, it only got 27 miles out of town before being forced to land. Gotta love Indiana! *lol*
1903 - Joe Pulitzer donated $1 million to Columbia U and so begins the Pulitzer Prizes
1978 - 1st successful crossing of the Atlantic by balloon (3 Americans)

Word of the Day:
jointure \JOIN-cher\ , noun;
1. Property given to a woman upon marriage, to be owned by her after her husband's death. *heh heh heh* Methinks the husband may have an "accident" very soon after the wedding.

Today is:
National Vanilla Custard Day I LOVE vanilla custard. (Real custard; not talking about the frozen stuff, although I like that, too.)
Davy Crockett Day "Davy, Davy Crockett, king of the wild frontier!" (Now I'm going to be humming that song all morning. )
National Thriftshop Day I frequent thift shops. I live in a town that has a lot of well-to-do citizens, and they give away really good stuff to Goodwill and church resale shops!
Wrench Day Gee, I used one this morning, to tighten a nut on my music stand.
Self starter Day I'm tired this morning, and it was REALLY hard to get started.
Meaning of "Is" Day
Pulitzer Prize Day I nominate rainroosty, for his daily contributions to the QOTD!

Happy hump day, everybody!

Personal note
I got a few notes asking about my shoulder surgery
(thanks for the good wishes & suggestions )

I have been going to Physical Therapy the last month for it and when that wasn't helping they did a MRI a week ago
When I went to "ortho doc" for the results I found out I have 2 tears and some bone impediment
With as much stuff as I do they are worried that it could completely tear which would be a more difficult surgery
So they scheduled it for Aug 25th

lol I don't know who will need the pain pills more me or my poor hubby who will be making sure I don't do anything the first 5 days
I am not good at doing nothing But you want to get better, right? So relax, sit back and do nothing...

Have a wonderful day folks. Nice beautiful sunny day here...I can hardly wait for the weekend.

(other than political ) You have, once again, eliminated my answer. The fact that it is political shouldn't have anything to do with it.

I really wish I could tell you about a very disturbing thing that happened on business trip to Arkansas. I can't stop thinking about it. It scared me badly and has my company reconsidering if we want to do business with these people anymore. Unfortunately the story has political ties so this isn't the place to tell it.

Bonus Question:

Do you own a Bicycle ?

I have a mountain bike. I don't ride it very often anymore.

Extra Credit Question:

One thing I've learned from posting daily is that I'm not a very good writer. No Pulitzers for me.
