With all the hype about guns and bad cops that seems to be floating around I think it's important to see this man doing his job and doing it well. I tip my hat to you, sir.

Why was the guy pulled over in the first place...and didn't they run his tags? Did they have a reason to stop him and pull him over? Why didn't they ask for his license or was it a bogus pull over? Not enough info to tell if the cop was doing his job, IMHO. I would take that as being harassed if they didn't have a legitimate reason for pulling me over and asking me questions.

That's my thought...what was the whole idea behind this thing? I wish we knew more about the background behind the situation. I gather he was walking down the street with a gun on his person and they wanted to make sure he wasn't going to go shoot up the nearest Walmart or Target. Interesting. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
What I garnered was the man was seen carrying a gun openly. There was mention of it being a holiday and concern about his intentions. The policeman wanted to check if the gun was loaded. He asked the man if was planning on loading after he left and was told no.
For those who think it's no big deal it could have easily turned ugly with a different attitude shown by the policeman...

Oh, you're absolutely right, Tek. As the wife of a retired law enforcement officer, I understand that all too well.
