I'm predominantly left-handed, however can write, draw, cut with scissors and such with my right hand.

If the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body and the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body does that mean those of us that are ambidextrous are the only people using all of our brain?

Righty but MIL is a lefty.

She was always trying to get my kids to try using their left hands.

For me, Left is Right and Right is Wrong!

The only things I do right-handed are those that either cannot be done left-handed, or can only be done left-handed with considerable difficulty. Examples are playing a trumpet and using "regular" scissors.

I do different things with different hands.

I type with both hands.
I play the piano with both hands.
I "polish the brass" with my left hand.
I use my cutlery with both hands when eating.
I use my mouse in my right hand.
I can write with both hands but more legibly with my right hand.
I would say my right hand is dominant.
