Road repair is often done in sections. And when the last section is completed, they start over again on the first section the following summer. End result is there is ALWAYS some road repair somewhere along your route every single summer. It's a never ending cycle and should be starting very soon in my area.
And what makes it worse (at least in this area) is they put out big orange signs saying "Right Lane closed ahead" and everyone starts moving over to the left. You get all the way up to the road work area and beyond and the lane is open all the way!
Our transportation dept and the media print their road work schedules and closures on the web and in the newspapers. Sometimes on the TV news for the major freeway closures.
Hope you can find an alternate route. They seem to take forever to fix roads sometimes. I think some workers could retire on one project.
No kidding Have you ever noticed how many workers there are standing around? I understand in some cities that most road repairs and construction are done at night so the work gets done faster, and commuting delays are shorter. Makes complete sense to me
