"Queueing"???? I had to Google that word! Is that an English word, or have I been missing something?
I work at a restaurant (similar to Panera) where people order at the counter. Some folks stand in line talking to their friends or daydreaming. When it's their turn, they look surprised and almost ask me what I want! Hello? Have you even looked at the menu board yet? Do you know why you're even in this line? You were coming up here to order food. Remember?
Yes, that's a peeve!

Yes, I can relate to the food order peeve and the grocery line peeve. Some people have no clue of what's going on around their own little world, especially cell phone users.

....or they don't have their food order planned in advance in the drive thru fast food places.

I must say that when I first went to the US ordering my breakfast was a bit nerve wracking- so many options, so many decisions!

As for ordering coffee, Mrs J knew that she wanted a tall skinny latté with an extra shot. Me- I was scared by the choice!
