Have any of you used those enclosed type snap traps, I believe one is called something like The Tomcat and it has several openings for mice to go in and kill themselves via a snap trap?
I saw evidence of mice in our garage and have had two HavaHart live traps set up in the 6 or 7 days since. At this point I'm merely feeding the critters (!!) because each night they get the peanut butter or cheese carefully smushed onto the lever, eat it, even take time to poop a bit, and leave the trap without setting it off! The traps are quite sensitive so the only thing I can figure is the mice are very small/light.
I don't want to *see* a dead mouse in a snap trap because I'm chicken, and I also can't have snap traps out in the open because our cat has access to the garage (and isn't the mouser he used to be, apparently :-( I can't use poison for the same reason, and am opposed to glue traps. Want something quick and reasonably humane like a snap trap if I can't catch them with the live traps.
Sooo, my long winded question is whether people have had success with those enclosed types of snap traps and would my cat not be able to stick his paw into one of them?

I don't know about this. Can anybody help Fields of Green with this one?
I found an enclosed snap trap today made by D-Con that was highly rated on Amazon and another site. I have two set and will let you know how it goes!
