Orlando, by far. But then again, Kissimmee is a small town while Orlando encompasses a large area and lots of different neighborhoods. But still.. Orlando.

It depends on which section of Orlando you're talking about.

Your question is very vague...tell us what you want and need out of where you live.

What's important? Shopping? schools? Parks?
What's your budget?

When posts like these come up it's like open season for other posters to paint either city with a broad brush. And it's usually in the negative.
Both Orlando and Kissimmee had many personalities and can't be lumped into one description.

For example...my mother is 75...she enjoys the busyness of Orlando.
Without knowing your mother and what's important to her quality of life there is no way anyone can answer your question.

Please be more specific.

Orlando... no choice. if you want sleepy and quiet then groveland, Chulota, Deland, there are many choices other than Kissimmee..... I'd pick St. Cloud probably before Kiss.. But as noted there are many different areas and you can vary Orlando a great deal from amazing to gross. pick amazing and Granny is happy.

I think it really depends on where you plan to work. The commute can be tough if you live in one and work in the other.

Malissa, As it has been mentioned, folks here want more information to be able to advise you which area would be more appropriate for you.

If you are working, you'd want to be relatively close, as the traffic may be hectic at times. What do you and your mother like to do? Your interests and so forth.

Reading the posts here can give you some insight as well as recommendations of certain areas of Orlando/Kissimmee to consider or avoid.

My suggestion would be that once you find where you'd like to live, to at least rent/live there for a while to see if it is where you want to settle.

Either community has its pros and cons.

Good luck!
