My friend out in California has told me young coconuts (with green skin) are better than the mature ones (hairy brown ones). She told me to look in the Asian markets. I tried an Asian market I found on Edgewater Drive in Orlando with no success. I'm not aware of any Asian markets in Kissimmee. Of course, I've only lived here a little over a year, so I probably haven't spotted the Asian markets yet. Does anybody know where to get them?

Okay, it doesn't have to be in Kissimmee. Is there anyplace in the Orlando area period that sells them? Don't say Coco Joe's, because he's closed up shop over at the flea market.

I'd just plant my own trees so you have an ongoing supply...

I'd thought about that, but how long does it take for them to grow?

I found them in Melbourne on Wickham Road, 1/4 mile north of Pineda Causeway at the Fruit/Vegetable stand there. $2.99 ea.

Thanks! If I'm ever out that way, I'll definitely make it a point to stop there and get some!

I have been buying them at Whole Foods for $3 apiece. If you want that kind of volume, you might want to ask if they'll give you some kind of bulk rate.
