I can't decide between Windermere or Lake Nona. I will be moving out there in July and have 2 kids in high school. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Bingo, along with Dr Phillips, Windermere and Winter Park, in general.

where will you be working? Lake Nona makes sense if you have a job in the medical city.

So it seems that everyone is in favor of Lake Nona over Windermere. Could someone be more specific as to why the one is better than the other regardless of work location. Is there an area of Lake Nona that is better than another?

I personally would choose Dr Phillips over both, but that's just me. Dr Phillips has restaurant row, a whole foods, and easy access to I-4 and 528, along with proximity to downtown, Disney, Universal and I-drive.

Lake Nona is good if you want a quieter, more rural lifestyle with proximity to the medical city and airport. Plus you have to take tolls everywhere you go unless you take the backroads via Narcossee Rd.

I'd choose Windermere. I like the area over there by the 535/536 (I believe those are the main roads over there). It seems quieter and not as overbuilt as say East Orlando (Waterford, Avalon Pk, etc).

Let's see, add all the new employee's plus the Veterans living around and traveling to the new VA plus Valencia's new campus plus Nemours Children's hospital and all the new commercial needed to support and offer services like restaurants, shopping, Doctors, Dentist, gas, etc...

Don't think Lake Nona will be quite for much longer!

I like and have sold homes in both area's you are focused on but lean toward Nona for a better investment due to the jobs and close proximity to the Airport (2nd home buyers like the quick cab drive)

Hope this helps,

We live near Lake Buena Vista and Windermere off of 535 and it only takes 30 minutes to get to airport. Do you really need to live closer?

It's been about 3 years since the last post on this thread.

I'm thinking of moving to Lake Nona myself. There's been a lot of promise. Now that 3 years has passed, how is it now?

Better or hype?

thanks in advance!
