Hey everyone,

I am getting ready to move to Orlando and I will definitely be on a budget. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for great bargain stores (ex: Big Lots, 99 cent stores, etc)... you know, places that one should go to before going to bigger/more expensive stores. Places to get things such as appliances or bedding or toiletries... anything! Let me know your best bargain joints!

Also: if there are stores to avoid, that would be great, too. Like if a particular Walmart is just horrible or overpriced!

Thanks so much (in advance) for your help!

This question is right up my alley! I love bargain shopping
*For a dollar store I recommend Dollar Tree (there are 3 in my vicinity). The have a pretty big assortment of food and now even have frozen food. They are great for buying plates, toiletries and cleaning supplies.
*The best place for groceries IMO is Super Target. Overall they are less expensive than Walmart and an easier shopping experience. I shop mostly at Albertson's but only buy things on sale... they have an amazing assortment of 10 for $10 deals. I try to avoid Walmarts because they are horribly understaffed and crowded in my area.
*Big Lots has gone down a lot over last few years and most of the time the stores are a mess but you can still find a great deal on things like comforters, sheets and some electronics.
*For furniture, I recommend a Rooms to Go Outlet. There is one in South Orlando and Altamonte (unless is closed??). I haven't made it there yet but I heard Ikea has great prices as well.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

I'm the bargain queen!
For groceries, I go to Save-A-Lot (bring your own bags)I get the canned, frozen, dairy and boxed goods from there. I shop at Super-Walmart for other stuff they don't carry. Watch the weekly adds for meats at Albertson's and stock up.
The Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Dollar General are great for odds and ends. Great for deodorants, shampoos, etc.
Big Lots is another good one.
Sticks and Stuff is good for furniture and so is Big Lots. I'd try craigslist too.
Appliance Direct is good for appliances.
Old Time Pottery is good for household items, linens, rugs, and sheets.
Flea World is a huge flea market in Sanford. You can get alot of stuff from there from new to used.
The thrift stores are great to hit as we always have alot of yard sales on the weekends.
For clothes shopping, you have Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Beall's Outlet.
We have it all, anymore questions, let me know!

Default Washer/Dryer for rent ?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows any places in orlando have a washer/dryer for rent ? Apparently, the place I looked at does not have it in the unit or even at the facility. Obviously, I do not wants to buy it because it's not my own place.
Thanks

You can find a free one on craigslist or freecycle.org. People are always moving and just looking to get rid of them. And yes, they do work! IMO renting would would turn out to be way to much.
