There is a place in Altamonte Springs just Noeth of the Bowling Alley to the West of the highway and N of 436... I can't recall the name of the furniture store but it is upscale and in an office building. it is very large and contemporary. It is on Douglas, North of E Central on the East side of Douglas.
It may be Scan design.... Seems there was a more conservative furniture store there as well upstairs... not sure that helps...

Robb and Stuckey is also and upscale furniture store.

the one in Altamonte has a Macys next door which has some nice things as well....

While it is a drive, I think you will find it worth the trip.

Scan design is nice but PRICEY. A cheaper alternative would be some of the mid-level stuff at IKEA.

I also found some reasonable modern/contemporary furniture at Ashley's

There are also some great buys at the Macy's Furniture Gallery, which is somewhat hidden near the intersection of 436 and 434. I just bought three pieces from their floor stock that was clearanced at around 70% off!

Default contemporary furniture

I have some gorgeous contemporary pieces for sale (near Orlando.) I have a dining table, coffee table, executive desk and credenza. All were very expensive pieces, but I'm selling them at a HUGE discount. If you are interested... let me know. I have pics to send. The furniture is light maple, with chrome legs. Coffee table and dining table have gorgeous colors as well.

I've bought at Scan Design since 1982 and always been pleased. Haven't been there recently but the used to have a "

I've also bought at Hudson's Furniture at their Altamonte store and their sales and service are fantastic.

Delivery from both these stores was the greatest! Most stores send gorillas but not these two. Delivery people from both stores were courteous and very careful with set up and placement of furniture. They treated and placed the furniture as if it were in their own homes. That's as important to me as sales and service.

Furniture from both stores is well made. My teakwood dining set from Scan Design looks as good today as it did when it was delivered in '82. I've been so pleased with all my purchases from both stores.

I doubt I'll ever again buy from stores other than these two. I highly recommend both Scan Design and Hudson's.
