im going to need some help on this since my parents have done to much for me i want to do something on my own. im 19 and am getting ready to go to college. im not sure what i wana do yet so my plan is to take a community college and get an idea of what i wana major in. i currently live in michigan and hate it. i have always loved florida and want to live there.

the only problem is how i mentioned earlyer, my parents have taken to good of care of me so i have no idea where to start or how to go about moving from Michigan to florida.

im sure if i do my reading and talk to people i will learn alot and do very well on my own. thats why im starting now, i dont plan on moving till next fall.

whats the best thing i can do at this point? i have no idea what to look for or where to start.

There are 3 campuses located around the Orlando area, one is in Kissimmee. Each one has different courses, I majored in Film Production on the East Campus. I would call a counselor at Valencia to get started and check the internet for roommates. I know there is a website to help find roommates but I forgot. Good luck.

Default Find an apt or room to share in Orlando easy !

A good place to look for an apt or a room to share would be Craigslist.com. A lot of students post houses to share rooms for rent. I live in the Lake Nona area and there are students who share big houses with other students for about $500/ month. They get more for their money. They go to all kinds of schools, some go to Valencia Community, UCF, MMI, and all kinds of other schools in the area.

There are 2 junior colleges in Metro Orlando. Valencia and Seminole. But if you want a quick degree or certificate, try Mid Florida Tech, Devry, FMU, or ITT Tech.

Default Florida colleges

My daughter is looking into moving to Florida for college also. One website we found helpful was fldoe.org. Here you can find information on community colleges. Be advised that you will have to live in Florida for 1 year prior to starting classes to be considered a Florida resident for tuition purposes, therefore you will have to pay out of state tuition for the first year. As a parent of a recent high school graduate, I wish you good luck.

Default More choices

Try Orlando Tech for health sciences--practical nursing, surgical technology both with state and national certifiction or Winter Park Tech if computers are your thing (web page design) etc. Both are public schools with low, low tuition.

Be wary of the many very expensive private schools (most offering degrees that are not accepted at any other colleges except their own system). Check out these links
