Looking into moving to Orlando early next year, and will be visiting in October to do some research/exploring i.e driving thru neighborhoods, visiting apartment complexes etc.

Was wondering what everyone thought about the Hunters Creek area? Good place to live? One of my friends who I will be moving with...he knows someone that I guess lived in Hunters Creek for a few years and raved about it. So he really is pushing for us to live in that area, and definetly check out some apartments in HC when we are there in October. I do have to say the apartments I have seen on the internet look good, and I like the location--close to Disney and I-4, right near 417, John Young, OBT, Osceola Pkwy etc. Also the price range of the apartments is something we can handle.

So whatever anyone has to say about it (pros, cons...positives, negatives) I'd appreciate hearing your opinion.

Hunter's Creek is a great area to live in (I currently live in the HC area) Most of it was built in the late 80s up to the mid 90s. With the last development completed circa 2008

The schools are very good, the people are friendly, the attractions as well as the airport are close by. Downtown is a 20 minute drive up John Young Pkwy to I-4

International Drive, The Millenia, and Florida Malls are less than 20 minutes away as well

Overall this is a very good location to be in metro Orlando.

The only thing not close to Hunter's Creek is UCF, which is a 35-40 minute drive via the 417

Hc is fine. You need to use toll roads like the 417 to get around.

Pretty much your average nice neighborhood, nothing really special about it if you ask me. Dr Phillips and MetroWest are better IMO.

Metrowest borders on some pretty shady areas though. The nice thing about HC is that it is less expensive, and close enough to areas like the theme parks, airport, and kissimmee if you need to get over there.
