House of Blues and BB King's always have somebody good playing at night and on the weekends. You could probably call them and ask what time the bands are playing. It's also nice because you can have a drink and an appetizer while you enjoy covers of some of the best blues musicians.

I would go to Thornton Park or Park Ave. They usually have acoustic musicians playing in outdoor cafes.

The HoB entertainment is seldom blues. Usually folk rock type stuff. Google Jeff Coffey to get a good idea of the typical music there, he plays there quite often.
