Okay so I actually don't know this guy's name/story (and I wish we'd had our camera on us) but we stopped at a 7/11 on International Drive the other day coming back from SeaWorld and there was a motorcycle parked on the sidewalk with five parrots/macaws sitting on the seat. They were very well behaved didn't squawk or make a fuss, just kind of looked at you as you walked by them (I had to tell my son to please resist the urge to go up and stick his finger out to them).

Once inside I saw a guy walking around that looked like a cross between Crocodile Dundee and the Road Warrior. Does anyone know this guy's story? Maybe he's a local performer? I was trying to figure out if the birds rode perched on him while he was speeding down the highway or just flew really fast behind him trying to keep up.

Only in Orlando! (and I mean that in a good way)...

I think I saw that guy too a few weeks or just another guy with a few birds with him around Pointe Orlando. I am terrified of birds so I walked as far away as I could. I don't know anything about him though....

They seemed friendly enough (or at least they weren't leaving the bike to go attack any of the passer byers (passers by?). Of course who knows...it may be a common thing to walk around with exotic birds in Orlando...

Hmmm...guess it's a good thing we didn't go up and start asking questions about his birds...

I have parrots myself, and I had a friend up north who used to take his cockatoo to the convenience store all the time...would sit him on the big trash can outside...had a big cowboy had and all...he was quite the popular attraction at that store...Cowboy Bill we called him HE was a very nice man with a nice parrot.

I don't know about the fellow you are speaking of, however, I will tell you about an encounter we had in Waterford Lakes recently...just as a little warning since you said your son showed such great interest (as does my daughter in these types of things)

We were at the Best Buy, and a man there had a big Cockatoo with him that he brought into the store itself. The sales person tried to tell him he should not, but he convinced her it would not make a mess and it was safe so she allowed it. We had spoken to the man outside the store, about his parrot a bit and went it. He then proceded to follow us around the store a bit. Usually the hubby and I split up in this store, as what he likes bores me to death, the man followed me, and continued to speak to my child. My daughter usually likes to play the demo video games in there and I usually allow her to, at a short distance...however, I could not shake this man, nor the creeps, so while I let her play a little...I did not leave her side....the man watched her play too. I pulled her off the game and we went and found my hubby...he finally stopped following us at that point.

I have a wierd feeling he may have been some kind of creep and his bird the perfect bait. I am sure your birdman is something different...being there are five birds and a motorcycle...I would be curious as to how that works as well...lol! But your story reminded me, and I wanted to share....

I have some friends that both ride bikes and hang out sometimes in that particular area. I'll ask around. I'd love to know his story.
