My husband, myself, and our 11 month old are taking a trip to Yachats for a few days and we've never been there before. Any suggestions on what to do for fun, places to eat, things to see? We've been to Cannon Beach several times, and love it. This is the second Coast city we're venturing into. Thanks!

We like the Drift Inn for breakfast. Yachats is an artsy little village, lots of "looking around" you can do there at art galleries and such. There are lots of trails and hikes you can do around Yachats, and of course the beaches.

Just south of Yachats is one of my favorite places to go - the Cape Perpetua Scenic area. Drive to the top to check out the view from the Overlook area! Bring binoculars. I think it's the highest point on the Oregon Coast... or perhaps the highest that can be reached by car? It's a very cool view, very beautiful.

Is Gracie's Sea Hag in Yachats? I think it is. That's a great place to eat.

The drive from Yachat south to Florence is the most beautiful part of highway 101, for my money. There are many state parks to stop at along the way, and you definitely have to visit Cape Perpetua (the visitor's center is good, and there's lots of hiking trails, through beautiful coastal forests, with some spectacular ocean views). In Yachats proper, the 804 trail is a nice hike along the rocky beaches, which ends at a nice big sandy beach a bit north of town.
