Be aware that the Pacific Ocean is a killer. Sometimes it even gets natives, who should know better. Last year, Katy Roe left a bar to walk home and never made it. We expect tourists and teenagers to die at the coast, but adults normally only die if they get on a boat.

She was almost a teenager, and barely old enough to drink. Drinking and walking is better then drinking and driving, but it's still dangerous.

So you think the fact that she drowned in the Pacific is irrelevant? Isn't that just a little oblivious?

I was just pointing out that she was almost a teenager. So by your logic it should have been expected for that reason alone. Unless you would expect to see a 19 year old die like that, but not a 20 or a 22 year old, which I don't think you would make that argument.

To answer your question, yes I think the ocean was mostly irrelevant to her death, except for the fact that she was looking at the moon over the ocean when she fell to her death. If the ocean wasn't there she could have fallen off of something else like a freeway overpass or something. IMHO.
