Hello there, we are currently living in Tigard and want out! It's just not for us anymore and way too crowded! We were thinking about Sandy or McMinnville but do not know much about them. Does anyone know what the mind set is like there and if they are good areas to raise a family? We are also considering the Vancouver area but really want to take our time with our decision since we do not want to move again! We are pretty new to Oregon ourselves so only heard a little on all the areas mentioned. Any feedback good or bad would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Personally, i like both areas, althought ive never lived in either. - I did work nearby Sandy for awhile, and I grew up very close to McMinnville. I guess if i had a choice, id go for McMinnville. It seems to have kept a small town feel to it, while growing enough to cover most needs. - The happy thing is, you are not very far from either town, so you can go spend a day here and a day there. Id recommend walking all around town and talking w/those who live there. Check out lines in the supermarket are always good. And Im not sure for Sandy, but I know that McMinnville has a Starbucks. - go grab a coffee and sit and talk w/some of the people there. Might find what youre looking for.
Good luck!
Tiffany

Thanks Tiffany! I agree, McMinnville has the cool small charm feel we love. Plus it is closer to the beach from we are now. I will take your advise and walk around more and try to meet some locals. They do seem very friendly. Thanks for the tips!
