My boyfriend and I are moving to Orange County for his job in Aliso Viejo. We are looking to rent for awhile before buying a home. We like these 2 areas and were wondering which was the best place to meet other people our age. We are in our late thirties and have no kids.

Opinions welcomed!

Thanks

Nice place to live. It's one of those areas where you can got overly secluded in some insular neighborhoods, but there are plenty of 30'something people to meet if you're active people...

Forest City? I've never heard of that. Is it some new subdivision? Or do you mean Lake Forest?

With no kids to worry about, I'd go with Laguna Niguel, myself. It's a nice area, it's closer to the 5 freeway, which is the 'heart' of Orange County, and it's also a 10 minute drive from Laguna Beach, which is beautiful to visit and hang out at. Lake Forrest is very nice, as well, but it's a bit farther inland, and tends to be a bit more of the "family with 2.5 kids and a white picket fence-type". Just my two cents, when comparing the two. Good luck!

I do believe Laguna Niguel is somewhat pricey in comparison to Lake Forest. There are lots of huge apt. complexs in Lake Forest area many which caters to young people.

Thanks for the suggestions! We opted for Laguna Niguel since it is closer to the job in Aliso Viejo, such a beautiful area, and close to the Laguna Beach.

We are moving there in June. I'm coming from Austin, TX and looking forward to the cooler less humid climate.

lake forest is actually closer to aliso viejo.. they are both very close though.

and between the two cities, they are both almost the same... Pretty much all those areas (Aliso viejo, lake forest, mission viejo, laguna), are are some of the nicest, highest class areas in the country. all very nice.

Actually, Lake Forest is equally close to the 5 freeway as well, only, on the other side.
