To those of you who have been here for awhile, you know I've been talking about it for almost a year on here (maybe more?), and the time is quickly approaching. I'm almost ready.

Love it in OC? Tell me what you love.
Hate it? Tell me what you hate.

By now I have a pretty good idea of what to expect. But I'd like to hear your personal opinions.

You can rave (positive), or
You can rant (negative),
All opinions are welcome.

Also if you have any tips, advice, suggestions, etc about moving to or living in OC, you're also welcome to post it.

I just posted why I hate it on another thread...I think on the pros/cons of Orange County thread ouch...hate is a strong word. But I'm REALLY unhappy here.

Omg..I'm laughing that I love your area and you want to come to mine. If you want to message me, I can give you more practical information for your move. I have friends in Edmonds who just moved there from Orange County, and left for every reason I state in my other post. So I have a nice base up there to visit other areas. Although I fell in love with Edmonds...sigh.

I've lived in OC for 6 years, but been in SoCal my whole life. Orange County has great weather, tons of accessible amenities (beach, mountains, amusement parks, etc.), and better schools than many other counties (that's as a whole, and CA schools still suck compared to the rest of the nation). It's also cleaner and more kept up than other counties, as a whole.

My husband and I are looking to move to another state, simply due to the politics in CA. We just hate everything this state is doing with our tax money, and how our rights are restricted. We also don't want to raise kids here.

Don't know why you're moving here, or if you're looking for any particular info, so that's the best I can do off the top of my head.

Not going to do this again. too many posters here go crazy and foam a the mouth (keyboard) if anyone says that OC is anything other than absolutely perfect in every possible way and better than every other place in every possible way.

So there you have it. It is perfect in every possible way. There is not one thing that be said the is even merely good or great. It is perfect. No warts at all. (Or for a balanced discussion you can look through the aforementioned thread which is still active, just don't get caught looking at it).

Well that's dumb. Obviously every place has its ups and downs. If you don't believe this then you're lying to yourself and won't be happy anywhere.

You tried, you really did and still you get a silly response.

I don't know Coldjensens. I think this forum is much more balanced than most. You should try using the Maine forum. Now that one really foams at the collective mouth if anyone suggests anything negative about the state of Maine. It's like a cult. Objectively comment about some negative attributes at your own risk. It's insane!

Here, I think it tends to be a little more accepted to present both the pros and the cons. Yeah, once in awhile there's a rabid dog or two -- but comparatively speakly for city-data state forums, not so bad.
