My family and I will be moving from Michigan to RSM in about a week. We will need to buy some furniture once there but we are not really sure where we should start looking. Can someone recommend a store that has good quality furniture for decent prices?

Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Jeff

I am not sure about prices, but Living Spaces in Irvine near the spectrum has a good selection.

Also Easy Life furniture in the Tustin Marketplace.

I have not found any furniture I would buy, end up building my own.
Even in the best of stores so much veneers.
I have a lot of oak, cherry and walnut put away. A couple of dressers are next.
My current dresser is 45 years old made of cherry.

If you weren’t in a rush, you could bypass the retail middleman and buy quality furniture directly from North Carolina:
North Carolina Furniture Manufacturers Offer Wholesale Priced Furniture

I did this in the 90’s while living in Manhattan and saved quite a bit. Another tip, pay a small fee for a local store to measure your windows for blinds, then send the measurements to a name manufacturer and purchase them directly from them at a large savings. Window treatment manufacturers can be found at the back of home design magazines or online.

Check Craigs List. If you take the time you could probably find near new furniture at a fraction of the cost of new.

Google "Freecycle".

I bought a sectional sofa from Living Spaces in June 2009. They sell mid range price/quality furniture. So far my sofa has survived young kids jumping on it and messy kid type spills and it still looks new.

Al's Woodcraft located in Huntington Beach and Tustin has a wonderful selection of quality solid wood furniture at reasonable prices.

Living Spaces is junk. If you don't need quality furniture or stuff that holds up go there. IKEA is junk. Even Macy's furniture has gone down in quality. Basset, Ethan Allen, etc. are expensive but they sell quality. Basset is a great place with good solection and very good quality.
