Omaha, NE) -- Actor George Clooney will be in town this spring for five days of filming. His new movie, "Up In The Air" is about a man who undergoes a personal transformation. Omaha was in the script as the place the man goes to find himself. Officials are not sure when the Academy Award winning actor will be in Omaha. Omaha was also the setting for other films including, "About Schmidt" and "Election".

Comes to Omaha to find himself?

Jason Reitman huh, i dont plan on seeing Juno, but Thank You For Smoking was awesome.

That would be bananas if he had a Q&A, I love Film Streams.

There are always a few "hollywood liberals" in town from time to time. Alexander Payne lives Downtown and I've seen him bring quite a few actors to town.

Isn't that interesting that they hang out in DownTown Omaha, the gayest part of town? It just tickles me to death!

Surf,

This isn't a gay thread.

For those who think this is an entirely irrelevant event, you should keep in mind that much of the movie is supposed to be place in Omaha. You can't buy publicity like that!

I usually hate about everything that deals with Hollywood, but I view this as a good thing for Omaha. At the very least, it might help a tiny bit in convincing people that Omaha isn't a cow town.

Too bad it's Clooney that we're getting the publicity from though.

I think most of the movie is in St. Louis. They said they are only doing three scenes in Omaha, I think. Regardless, still a great opportunity!

I'm not even sure at all about the details, but a major part of the story relates to Omaha - as I understand it. I just hope that they don't paint Omaha as a tiny little midwestern town. I guess this could swing the other way too.
