I live in Cali right now and will possibly be relocating sometime this year.

I have heard rumors that a Trader Joe's is supposed to coming to the area? Its my favorite place to shop and anything close to that right now would be Whole Foods, which is considerably more $$$. Anyone know?

I've heard this rumor too. I believe the speculation was that they were coming to Midtown Crossing.

There are rumors, particularly in mutual of Omaha's midtown crossing, who is keeping most of their Retail development's secret for some strange reason.

I heard that too. I've actually never shopped at Trader Joe's but have heard good things about it. By the way, has anyone seen the progress on Midtown Crossing? It's shaping up nicely! Can't wait to go there this winter when the project is supposed to be completed.

TJs sometimes has a better chance of going in to a town that already has an Aldi... Since there are a few of those in Omaha, a TJs in Omaha would be more likely right now than a TJs... in Texas, for example (no Aldi and no Trader Joe's at this point). The only Trader Joe's I have been to outside of California has been in St. Louis and it was a decent one. I do think TJs would do well in Omaha - good prices, variety of their own private label stuff you can't get elsewhere, Two Buck Chuck wine...

The main drawbacks I have found with Trader Joe's are that they are usually smaller stores, so can get crowded very easily, and it also isn't a one-stop shop for a weekly grocery trip for a family - there are some things that you would be more likely to find at a standard grocery store. Even with the drawbacks, I am still quite fond of the stores.

I hope Omaha gets a Trader Joe's - I think it would do well there. I shop at Trader Joe's when I'm in Milwaukee, but haven't picked up any wine. Is that the actual name of the wine?

I've been hearing this rumour for about 2 years. I hope that it will happen, I miss TJ's desperately. Their produce section was always awful, but I loved the rest of the store.

I didn't even know Omaha had an Aldi's. Is it too much to wish for IKEA as well??
