That's where a propane operated back-up generator comes in.

I had a brand new 5 kilowatt generator in NH that I never had to use...
I gave it to my friend before I left for OK.

Hindsight is 20/20.

We have one now, but they were hard to come by during the ice storm.

She had gotten pretty darn good at it.

Utah did too and I didn't miss all the shoveling, but my daughters kept reminding me how horrible the weather was so I felt like I was living it. I will miss the skiing though. I have no clue why I brought my skis to Oklahoma, to gather dust I guess

Back in the 90s, there was a really bad ice storm in ME, and after a few days,
you couldn't find a generator anywhere in New England.

Also gave my oil lamps to my friend before we left NH...
Had to go pick up a couple of them Saturday...
Fortunately there were a few in stock.

When there's no power, at least you can read if you have light.

You probably won't get much use out of your skis anymore...
Send them to your daughters and tell them to stop whining.

Or even better....
You can "keep reminding" your daughters about the deadly heat here all Summer.

We had plenty of the lamps too in December but we were pretty cold...that was my biggest complaint. The fireplace didnt seem to do the job. Sometimes I just went to Walmart and walked around to stay warm. On day 7 of no power luckily we had a cruise planned out of Galveston and we got out of town!

They only speak "whinese". They just miss their mom and me helping them out with their problems.
I hope I can handle the heat...it's already been way to humid for me. I can't breathe when I go out to run

Put rollers on your skis and use them instead of your vehicle to save money on gas.
