It's easier (and cheaper) to keep it clean, than to clean it out.
Let me know when you get back, and I'll show you how.

Let me know too, that is, if this applies to my computer as well.

It does if your machine has been invaded and slowed down by "malware".

Tell you what...

I think I'm gonna post some stuff on the "Okie Tech Thread" about
how to keep free from all that stuff...

If you don't see it by Saturday at 11am., please feel free to remind me!
(But y'all have to promise to keep it a secret.)

I want to know too, but you have to explain it very slowly, and don't use any big words or acronyms for me.

My clean-up regimen goes like this:

tools>>internet options>>delete files>>delete cookies

start>>programs>>accessories>>system tools>>disk cleanup... uncheck anything I want to keep and click OK

Then: AdAware, Spybot, rinse and repeat as necessary...

If those two encounter something they can't take care of I have *other* methods. (HijackThis is an old favorite.)

I will let CG explain all of the gory details in the tech thread though.

I do nearly all of my bill-paying on line, and one bright tech told me to delete the cookies. BIG mistake! It took me nearly a month of phone calls to get my computer reset so that the sites where I pay would recognize me again. The ONLY virus I've ever had was one that huddled in the internet temp files, so I set it to delete all temp files every time I turned it off, and presto, no more viruses. But I also have a bunch of blockers and anti-virus scanners of various kinds installed.
