Kinda sad when people ask about small and remote Oklahoma towns that aren't doing much.

Sayre is a nice enough little town. It hasn't totally dried up because it's the county seat. If not for the courthouse and the typical business nucleus arouind the courthouse Sayre would be about dried up.

It is mostly retired people and it also functions as a satellite community to Elk City which is the hub of the oil boom that is going on out there.

Sayre schools are fine. Nothing special but overall a good place to be all things considered.

Apparently some Cali gang bangers got into it at the cafeteria.

I did forget that the prison is open again. It's been opened and closed about 3 times since they built it.

Yea that's the prison my husband is going to work for. He started out there 14 years ago and now he is going back as a chief of security. We watched it on the news and he was all juiced up. Lol

I was thrilled to hear that we are housing California prisoners in Oklahoma!
Of course I realize that it provides much needed jobs for Oklahomans, and that is very important but I did not realize that we had prisoners here from other places.
