OKLAHOMA CITY -- Whole Foods Market has plans to open a location in Oklahoma City in the near future.

An Whole Foods employee confirmed the timeline, but a location has not yet been revealed.

I think it will probably open up in Classen Curve which is a new development near Nichols Hills.

It's about damn time.

Oklahoma City has a decent amount of wealth... and enough health-conscious people... that always seemed absurd to me that there is not a single Whole Foods in the city.

For comparison sake, there are >10 Whole Foods within the Beltway of DC (where I live now).

Sadly, I have contacted Trader Joe's and they have absolutely NO plans to come to Oklahoma City! It is the BEST!

I'm not disappointed. We used to live in an area with Whole Foods, and they are cool. But we went once and price compared, and discovered it charged 50 percent more for the same products like cereal than supermarkets do. The food market deli counter is neat. You can buy things there you can't get in OKC now.
