Cleveland - Science Museum on the Lakefront, there's also the Children's Museum and I loved the natural history museum when I was a kid. Both are at University Circle. Can also hang out on Wade Oval in the summer. Maybe go to an Indians game, if your family is into baseball.

Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh...it has the country's oldest dinosaur skeleton, as well as the largest collection of Jurassic dinosaurs. Kids would love it.

Cedar Point. Stay at Hotel Breakers on the peninsula, and the amusement park will be on one side and Lake Erie on the other. Spend one day on the Jet Express or the ferry going to visit some of the islands.

Cedar Point. Pricey, but fun for everyone. If your kids are very young and you're looking for a less interesting theme park you could always go to Kennywood.

But Cedar Point >>>>>> Kennywood [as an adult, at least]
