Hello everyone,

I recently just found out that i'll be moving to Virginia and stationed at Quantico. I'm trying to get a general idea on where to live. I'll be renting an apartment and it will be my wife and I, so i'm looking for a community that she will be safe. Stafford and Woodbridge were suggested from peers but wanted to know if there was anything else. Thank you for your responses.

My son and his wife lived in Stafford while he was at Quantico. They were in a nice apartment complex with good ammenities. There also were several couples their age living there and I don't think she ever felt unsafe.

usmcmomx2 thanks for the reply. I hear a lot of good things about Stafford. Nice and close to Quantico too. I hear traffic is a real pain there.

Instead of Stafford I would consider the Montclair area. The only problem is the lack of Apartments in Montclair. North of the Quantico main gate are some apartment complexes. I'm talking about 4-5 miles north, not just north as those suck. One of the complexes is called Fox Run and I'd avoid that one. I can't recall the name of the ones south of Fox Run but it tends to be a little better. The nice thing about living North of Quantico is the reverse short commute. If you go to Stafford then he goes with the traffic both ways.

Thank you for the info. I've been trying to look up apartment or any rentals in Montclair but havent had much luck. We are planning a trip in March to look at prospective ares, so we maight just have to wait for that.

You can also live on the Stafford side of Fredericksburg. It was for me a door to door to Quantico commute of 30 mins. With all of the backroads now open you can skip the highway all together. Depending on your price range their are a variety of not just apts, but townhomes and homes available for rent.
