I actually have memberships to both places. Costco clearly has the advantage IMO.

I like Kirkland brand albacore tuna fish....by comparison, Bumble Bee is cat food.

Wow! As a Costco member I've sometimes wondered about how Sam's compares and if we should switch. I guess I've found my answer: no!

Thanks to the original poster for asking the questions.

I haven't yet. But, I've been tempted to pick up some of the Kirkland beer - they had a fall/Octoberfest selection that looked kind of interesting.

We used to be members of both when we lived in Hampton Roads, but after moving to NOVA, we became exclusively Costco members because there are a lot more of them so that we can go to any one if we need to run errands in random places, and their merchandise is much better in quality (and tastier).

Bargain Secret: Even tho Costco and Sam's don't have 'sales'.......When shopping at Costco, any pricetag that ends in "97cents" is below cost (a real deal!). At Sam's, any price tage that ends in ".01" is a sale item (another good deal!).

We have membership to both Sam's and Costco - my wife had the Sam's and I had Costco when we got married.

We can find everything we need at each one and they're about the same distance; however, we go to Costco probably 9 times out of 10. We generally prefer the products there a bit more, and love the churros at their cafe!
