Hi,

I am looking for a reputed dentist in Fairfax area who has a proven record of successful dental implants. If anyone has done dental implants, please recommend.

Thanks,
Met

If you are willing to drive a little bit to a dentist who is referred by someone who actually has an implant... try Gainesville Dental Associates at 7521 Virginia Oaks Drive in Gainesville 703-754-7151. Dr. Chehade did my implant and Dr. Abel did the crown.

I had a tooth to break on my 2000 mile move on Saturday Dec 23 of last year. Not a convenient time! I picked the closest dentist who took my insurance and I got extremly lucky. I highly recommend everyone at this dentist office, and I use to hate going to the dentist. Now I don't mind it one bit. An implant will cost about $4000 and mine took 10 months from start to finish. The implant is in my smile line and you can't even tell it's not real. I have had zero problems with the implant.

Tooth pulled. Wait 3 to 4 months for bone to heal. Implant installed. Stitches removed about 10 days later. Wait 3 to 4 months for the bone to heal around the implant. Get metal cap removed off implant and have the abutment put on. Wait a couple of weeks. Come in for impressions so they can make the crown. I also had zoom teeth whitening done which delayed getting the impressions made for the crown by 2 weeks. Crown installed. Total time was 10 months & frequent checkup throughout the process.

Dental clinic in chiangmai Thailand services by specialist. They use an MRI machine to properly place the post.

What happened to your smile during this time? (Was there something temporary placed in the missing tooth area for vanity?) Was the process painful?

You can have a flipper tooth temporarily put in, but I decided against it. You have to remove it when you eat or sleep. You couldn't tell I was missing a tooth unless I smiled really big and you had to be looking for it.
Worst part was getting the tooth pulled, but they give you good drugs for that

No, but I've used one in the same city, I had teeth cleaning, teeth whitening, and five fillings--total cost, 208.00usd. They used foot massage to control the pain. No Novocaine was needed. I have met people, who have used Grace Dental and say it is great. I've been quoted 5 bucks per tooth for periodontal treatment; that's about a grand in the US. I also, have had a porcelain crown from Mexico for 5 years, it cost 150usd. One of the few ripoffs worse than auto repair in NoVa is going to the dentist. My brother spent 1500usd on a root canal and crown; it lasted about 8 months before he had to have it pulled. Paying outrageous amounts does not give you any guarantee of success. I'm sure travelling out of the country is out of the question for many of you. You probably can't afford to miss your critical mid-level management, government jobs.
