Hello
I need some help to see where to live in Arlington. I am a 36 yo single guy would like to move to Arlington VA. I was wondering which neighborhood would you recommend that I live in Arlington? I want to be close to the night life (of course somewhere that the crowd being around my age not college kids) and also I want to be close to the metro station in case I have to use it to commute to my work in DC. Talking to a friend he was saying that Pentagon and crystal city are the best. I would like to find a condo that has Potomac River view. I am not sure yet where my job is going to be but I though Arlington would be the best spot since it can be close to DC, Alexandria, and Tyson corner. I appreciate your feedback and help. Thanks

The crowd in Arlington won't be college kids but it tends to be alot of 20-something young professionals. There are people your age but you'll probably feel outnumbered at the bars. Just something to keep in mind if you're looking for an area with mostly people your age. I've never lived in Pentagon or Crystal City so can't comment on that scene.

Crystal City is the best neighborhood in the DC area.

I really don't think you're going to to find river views from very many apartments. I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

Crystal City is a good bet. Easy metro access, quick drive to old town or tysons (so long as you aren't heading in at rush hour), and short drive downtown if your job isn't on the metro.

I don't know if I would agree that CC is the "best" - there are certainly more aesthetically pleasing neighborhoods around - but singles such as the OP may find it convenient for the reasons that CaliTerp07 suggested.

Check out the high-rises in Rosslyn for river views. Some of the older condos like Prospect House have great views and older residents. As for nightlife, Arlington is the playground of 20-something yuppies who grew up in the burbs, desperately want the urban experience, but are still a little afraid of gritty city life. I think you'll find Old Town Alexandria a more satisfying neighborhood for your late 30s and 40s.

i live in prospect house. its had an influx of younger people within the last few years but you will be looking for a studio unless you have 3k to drop on a 1 bedroom place. great location though
