For those of you who live close to Leesburg Executive Airport, what is the noise level? Do planes come day and night? How frequently do you hear the noise and how bad is it when you hear it? Are you bothered by the noise when you are indoors? Thank you.

Ok. I went to communities around Leesburg airport and stayed there for an hour. Did not see one plane and did not hear anything. I also passed the airport and noticed all the planes that parked there were super small. I talked with some residents and they said the airplane noise was extremely rare, only when the government sent jets. Looks like the noise level is not an issue.

Check again at rush hour. I was at a school near there one evening and I saw many planes come in between 5:00 and 7:00. However, they were all small, I could see them coming in, but never heard them. I do not think that noise would be a problem.

That's good to know. It's the noise that bothers me. Planes are fun to watch.

I live right by the airport. The planes are small not a lot of noise and what noise there is you just get used to it and hardly notice it! The only thing I hate is how low they fly, its a little erie.

I live right next to the airport. Yes, you do see a decent amount of planes but I never really hear them. Definitely not a problem if you are thinking of moving near there.

I work at the airport. I can barely hear the planes when they land with the exception of some of the larger ones.

I live in NW Leesburg, close to downtown. The planes fly right over us and can be really noisy. However, there isn't that much traffic and it doesn't bother me like the IAD planes when we lived in Ashburn.

So you know those are IAD planes or Leesburg airport planes ? I live in Purcellville right now. Occasionally we hear loud planes flying over our house as well. I used to assume those were planes heading toward Leesburg Executive Airport. However, when I visited Leesburg last time, I saw these loud jets passing Leesburg and continuing southeast. I then realized those were big planes heading toward IAD. The big jets are loud even when they are high in the sky.

Thank you. Are you aware of any plan to expand the airport in the future? I heard this is the second busiest airport in Virginia.
