Here is a very rare view from the back of the metro train from West Falls Church to East Falls Church-

That was great. Was it during HOV hours? I-66 looked like a parking lot - good for newcomers to see and get an idea of what traffic is like.

Thanks, it was about 8:30 in the morning within the past 2 weeks (there’s probably an easy way to see the exact date and time, but I haven’t figured it out yet). Not sure if there was a particular traffic issue that morning, but that is the area where I-66 reduces down to 2 lanes so traffic is usually heavier in that vicinity. Just wonder how long they’ll be able to put off adding another lane straight through to Rosslyn.

They won't add another lane to 66, they've talked about that forever. But IMO 66 didn't look unusually bad, it looked pretty typical. It was moving, just slowed down in a few spots. So in that sense, it's probably a good representation of what traffic is like on a non-weather event, non-accident morning. Interesting video, in that it is a view that so many people have watched disinterestedly so many mornings it becomes like background noise. How many of us have been half asleep as that landscape (or pavementscape) rolls past?
