Clarendon sounds perfect for you. You'll have your pick of naive 23-year-old girls who will be flattered by the attention of a middle-aged, established man.
Actually, it appears that the OP, a guy in his early 40's, wanted to be in proximity of available ladies in their 30s. While it's true, he may have to sift through a few 20something bars and clubs to get to them, a ten-year or so age difference isn't necessarily "robbing the cradle".

Wow, I am so sorry for asking an honest and undiplomatic question, and thus causing offence - my sincere apologies as this was not my intention. I guess I should have expected a lot more flack than was given, so in this regard, Thank you.

Also, I do wish to thank sincerely, all of the people who have provided helpful hints and guidance with such a quick turnaround - I wasn't expecting such a quick response, so thank you all very very much.

Nosfaratubite, from reading the responses, it seems like your post did not offend. Getting back into the dating game in the DC area should be an....adventure. Good luck!

Definitely not DC or anywhere in MD.

My suggestion (along with others) is Clarendon. Availability to the tech corridor and easy access to parts of Arlington, DC, and Alexandria (the places for dinners, lounges, and clubs).

Also, depending on your circle of friends, there are receptions, parties, lectures, and events in DC.

Reston is okay once in awhile, but there's more happening in Clarendon and parts nearby.

And SO WHAT if he did want to date women in their 20s. There's nothing wrong with that. It's a free country. If it were up to every bitter old spinster, the legal age of consent for women would be 32. If he were a 40-something woman who said she wants to date younger men, would anyone chastise her?

Likewise, knowing what hair color, body type, or yeah, ethnic group you find most attractive (or culturally compatible) is just being honest. If his experience has shown him to be most compatible with, say, Brazilians, then his odds for finding someone compatible are better if he lives near a lot of Brazilians. And goes to lots of soccer games.

Anyway. Maybe DuPont's not such a bad choice after all--if he can handle the rats, bums, parking problems, smashed car windshields, high taxes, noise, etc. But when I read his posts, I immediately think "Clarendon" (wine-bar central) or possibly "Court House."
