I was using zillow.com to find homes for sale in northern virginia but I see most homes get listed in zillow and immediately close which means individual real estate companies might be selling from their own websites
and list in zillow just before closing. It is tiring to visit each and every real estate company's website to see their open listings. Is there a website which is up-to-date with all listings open in this area?
Thanks.

There is a significant delay for many of the feed sites such as Zillow. The best place to look for information in the area is homesdatabase.com. It is the public site of our REALTOR MLS.

A site they are pushing VERY heavily in metro ads, and I guess elsewhere.

Redfin is way, way better than anything else, and I've tried them all. Very easy to navigate and to customize your searches. And it includes everything, even FSBOs. Incredibly, homesdatabase is not updated as often as Redfin!

This has pretty much been my experience too. I vote for Redfin.

I third Redfin. It seemed as up to date as our realtors information when we bought last year.

I like Moderator cut: Please send sponsored MLS searches by a particular broker via DM if requested by the OP. Only non-sponsored MLS sites should be posted. Thank you. (has old sales prices that you can search) and Search Homes for Sale & Find Real Estate Agents Who Put You First | Redfin

Interesting since the homesdatabase site is the public side of the same MLS database that all of the REALTORS use.

Yeah, it's a real head-scratcher. When I tried homesdatabase, I would continually be pulling up supposedly on-the-market houses that I'd just driven by and seen with an "under contract" or "sold" card on the for-sale sign out front.

The only issue with Redfin is that it's not available in all parts of the USA. But they do cover the whole DC area, including even rural parts of VA.

Another plus for Redfin is that you can just not put anything in the "location" window, and then it'll show you whatever's for sale in the map area you're currently looking at on your screen. (Hdatabase makes you scroll through a tedious drop-down menu and click different zip codes.)

This is what I use most of the time. I like the way the information is presented in spreadsheet format and you can sort many different ways.
