Wow, we may be going for a record this year. 78 kids so far, and it's only 7:00. Are the parents taking the around early so they can go home to watch the world series??? Or, are we going to break the 100 mark this year? Either way, talk about trick or treat!

Vampires are the most popular costume this year. Also, lots of bumble bees, hippies, cats, and "heat wave". Most original so far was twin girls who were giant slices of pizza.

My twins were Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. Figured we'd get that in before they're old enough to have an opinion on their costumes. I've seen several Buzz Lightyears tonight (which was also really popular at the Air and Scare last weekend), and one whole family up the street sprayed their hair red and went as the Weasleys, while their neighbor went out with them as Harry Potter.

Awww, one year my (now college) daughter and I made a costume for her that was a slice of pizza and her best friend was a chef. They were so cute.

But, my favorite was when my son was about four. I made a dinosaur costume with a big long tail with spikes. It had to be filled with fiberfill -- poor kid could barely walk because the tail weighed more than he did! We had to carry it like a bridal train!

I love to see the little ones!

Ditto. It's so hard to predict. One year it will be 50+; the next year, a handful. So I'm always running out of candy or eating too much of it (or donating it if I can resist it)!

We've had 25-30 I think. Mostly all were in costume, though the older kids were just in street clothes with masks. (I'll give it to 'em though, they were taking out their younger siblings).

Amazingly, my dogs have been really well behaved despite all the door knocking! One barks like mad at the mail man, but she seems to know the kids are good, and just wants to sniff 'em
