Hello, I have a 2 and a 4 year old and would like them to take swim lessons evenings twice a week. But I would like them at my community pool. Can someone recommend a swim teacher in Fairfax, chantilly, Centreville or Clifton? Thank you!

Have you asked the lifeguards at the pool? They sometimes do private lessons, or the manager there may know someone local. Also, if your pool had a swim team, even though that's over now (and most are on vacation), you might contact them for a high school member who would love to earn a little money. Good luck! Have fun!

Make sure the person you hire has their WSI (water safety instructor) certification. It means they have passed a class that teaches you how to teach swim lessons. Don't just hire any lifeguard or someone on the swim team.

I agree about WSI, and be aware that some pools won't allow just anybody to teach in their pools, for liability issues. As above, your best bet is to ask one of the lifeguards or the pool manager.
