My Fiancee and I just moved to Fairfax and we used Roomstore on Rt. 50 - great prices, they deliver (up our steps) and assembled it there. They were great to work with.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with RoomStore. I would never use them again.

I bought a livingroom set and diningroom set from The Room Store awhile back. I guess it depends which Room Store one goes to (I used the one in Sterling). As far as delivery, there were a few stories about deliverymen beating up or damaging furniture so I knew up front to keep an eye on them. The guys that delivered were well-mannered and very good. But then again, I orchestrated what I wanted, where everything should go, etc. One piece was damaged (on the china hutch) and it was not brought in but returned and a replacement did come in a timely manner.

One piece of advice: when the furniture arrives, make sure everything is taken out of boxes, bubble wrap, plastic, etc. and inspected. Otherwise do not let them unload it off of the truck and bring it into the house. I had the guys unpack everything in the driveway where I could see things clearly and then brought into the appropriate room.

Very good idea, Jersey! After waiting for EIGHT months to get a final undamaged delivery....it was part of a big set called a bed wall...many pieces that made up the piece of furniture and couldn't be put together without ALL the pieces, I just told them to come back and get the pieces that had been delivered.

They came back and got them. Fortunately, I had the idea to quickly type up a list of what they were picking up and having the driver check off the pieces and sign the paper. Because two days later some woman from Room Store called and wanted one of the pieces back or was going to charge me. I told her that I had returned it. She insisted I hadn't. When I told her that I had a signed inventory list, she quickly changed her tune and said she would check into it and call me back. Amazingly, she found the returned piece. I truly believe I would have been paying for a piece of furniture that had been returned if I hadn't typed up the list.

Not only did I waste a lot of time waiting for many deliveries of damaged furniture over the 8 months, with my daughter sleeping on a mattress on the floor, but would have been charged for returned pieces. This was the Room Store in Manassas. I have washed my hands of that organization, no matter what location.

By the way, the delivery men were very courteous and apologetic. The damaged pieces were damaged in the shipping boxes and the delivery men were the ones who showed me the damage when they were unpacked.

jesus christ . . . 8 months? No wonder you've chosen not to patronize them again.

Same here. The fellas who delivered the furniture were the ones who showed me the damage and told me not to accept it.
