Hi

I am looking for a fun place to take adult dance lessons as a couple. We are complete novices and have both threatened to wear steel toed boots to our first few lessons.

We are in our 40's and athletic, and would like to find a studio that has people our age looking for something fun to do together.

Anybody know of a studio that might be a good fit for us?

Glen Echo's Spanish Ballroom qualifies as both fun and instructional, in a variety of dance styles. Check out their offerings, since it's worth the trip to Maryland, IMO. Glen Echo Classes

Yup, we've been there, and also did a tango lesson at Eastern Market, in DC. And saw a similar ball room dance group at the old town hall in City of Fairfax, to get back on topic for the forum.

The Fairfax County Parks & Rec association always has various ballroom/salsa/latin/swing dance lesson sessions going and they're reasonably priced and at many of the different rec centers around the area.

Gotta Swing has classes throughout the area as well and are also reasonably priced.

Absolutely the most fun you guys can have - look for lessons from Tom and Debra, the Godfather and Godmother of swing dance in DC: Gottaswing

Seriously, they've been around forever, and every local swing dancer knows them or learned from them at one time or another. Have fun! It's a great way to stay in shape!
