As mentioned in another topic.

Any quality bakeries in NoVA?

PS. Harvest Bread or whatever is the name of it in Alexandria/Herndon is no good (under baked and way too artificial tasting)

The place in Alexandria that everyone raves about isn't very good in my opinion.

I have yet to find any place in NOVA that makes good french bagettes

Wegmans makes some good bread (french bagette aside) and is my top place at this time.

If you have a KitchenAid stand mixer making your own bread is pretty easy. No hand kneading involved - the mixer does the work. I'm enjoying trying new recipes. :-)
