Hahaha, I love that website and his book. But it should be called ''Stuff White Liberals Like". The rest of us don't always listen to npr, we actually admit to watching television, while NOT reading the Sunday NY Times, but with our diet coke, and not designer water.

Actually, the author is a self-described liberal urbanite and fully admits that the site is basically making fun of himself and others like him.

Sorry to go off track, continue on...

Thanks for this site, it is one of the funniest I have seen in a long time. I am going to send the blog about camping to my daughter and son-in-law, who bought a camper recently. I grew up in a house without running water or electricity, I have no desire to repeat the experience.

So is it the result of an evil conspiracy or a curse perhaps from being built on top of an Indian burial site?

haha - I know, we're so awful.

I think it is sad that we don't teach our children second languages until high school, if at all. Many countries have multilingual citizens - I really don't get our resistance to this idea.

Because pretty much everyone here speaks English and and our kids generally don't move to or seek jobs in non-English speaking countries? They'd learn them and then never use them for the most part.

I think a lot of it has to do with funding. Most people see it as an extra that they don't want to pay for.
