So much for those with the "facts and logic" that said it was never reopening.

Yeah, but who will want to go there? Cinemark is so much nicer and bigger and you don't have the shady types hanging around the theater like you do at Marquee.

No. It was originally United Artists. I liked it much better under that management.

I agree...it was a decent theater back then...when it was a new theater, I'd bypass the Eric and the General Cinema at the mall and go there....but the place went downhill around the same time Cinemark opened.

I never said it was "facts and logic" that it wasn't reopening, I said RUMOR HAS IT. And it was stated in past articles in the Times about the theater's problems with the mall management that there was suspicion that they wouldn't reopen. The mall wants them out, actually, and wants someone else to run the theater.

The Marquee will definitely go down the crapper when the IMAX theater opens in Dickson City.

I would like a downtown theater to do good, but it needs a better company to run it, and there needs to be tight security to keep riff-raff from hanging around there.

They should be putting the IMAX in Scranton - not Dickson City.

Where in Scranton, in a ghost town? You have more people shopping and driving around in that area than any area downtown. You have Target, Wal-Mart, the mall and many restaurants in that area. It's more logical and fiscally sounder to put it in Dickson City.
